Our President:  Martin Needelman, Esq.

Marty is the Co-Executive Director & Chief Counsel at Brooklyn Legal Services Corp. A. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he has been an active member of BJOS for decades. Both his strategic vision for BJOS as well as his dedication to the shul serve as an inspiration to all.

 

 

President Emeritus: Mr. Morris Schulman

Mr.Schulman served as president of BJOS for almost two decades, until 2016. Mr.Schulman survived the Holocaust and served in the Israel Defense Forces during the War of Independence (1948-1949). He is one of BJOS’s most treasured and esteemed members.

 

 

Rabbi: Yehoshua Mizrachi

Rabbi Mizrachi was born and raised in Lakewood, NJ. He holds a BA in English from Georgetown University, and a BS in Biology from Touro College. He is musmach of Yeshivat Pirchei Shoshanim under the direct hadrachah of HaRav Doniel Channan shlit”a of Ramat Beit Shemesh. He is a member of the Igud HaRabbanim D’America. The major influences on his life and thought include HaRav S.R. Hirsh, HaRav Y.B. Soloveitchik, and HaRav Avraham Yitzhak HaCohen Kook. His weekly Torah blog TORAH OVER EASY has been viewed over 20,000 times. He and Yael are blessed with four daughters ranging in age from 15-26. When he is not learning or teaching or writing or thinking, the Rabbi enjoys sailing and playing trombone.

 

Rabbi Emeritus: Yehoshua Fishman shlit”a

Rabbi Fishman served BJOS as rabbi from 1971 until his retirement in 2014. He also served as Executive Vice President of Torah U’Mesorah, the National Society for Hebrew Day Schools. A tremendous talmid chacham, he helped guide and inspire the shul through the good years and the difficult years. He is universally beloved by all who know him.
